Department of Electrical Engineering holds Anything is POssible for Girls in Electrical Engineering (APOGEE) camp

7/30/2018

Penn State’s Department of Electrical Engineering hosted a five-day camp on July 23-27, called Anything is POssible for Girls in Electrical Engineering (APOGEE — the most successful, popular or powerful point), for girls in grades 7-9 to introduce them to electrical engineering. Participants learned about the electronics and signals that surround us every day, toured labs where electronics are fabricated, learned about the industries and organizations that hire electrical engineers as well as about careers of successful women in engineering, and had the opportunity to interact with and ask questions of a prestigious group of female electrical engineers from around the world.

About

The School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science was created in the spring of 2015 to allow greater access to courses offered by both departments for undergraduate and graduate students in exciting collaborative research fields.

We offer B.S. degrees in electrical engineering, computer science, computer engineering and data science and graduate degrees (master's degrees and Ph.D.'s) in electrical engineering and computer science and engineering. EECS focuses on the convergence of technologies and disciplines to meet today’s industrial demands.
